A law in Florida dubbed “Docs vs. Glocks” was recently struck down in a U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals due to it being ruled unconstitutional and violating doctors’ First Amendment rights. The law, enacted in 2011, had prohibited doctors from discussing guns and gun safety with patients. Now that the law has been tossed out, the medical community advises that talking about gun safety in homes with children is important for the same reason that pool safety is discussed.
