MCN works with over 20,000 physician locations nationwide. These providers are recruited and credentialed specifically for the provision of medical judgment services. Our consultants have been selected for a willingness to understand the unique role that the independent review/examiner must play—not as that of treating clinician, but rather as that of a neutral clinician who assesses records, history and examination factors to reach their conclusions and put these findings in writing. Examinees are seen by either an individual consultant, a panel of consultants at the same time, or individually by multiple consultants depending on the particular needs of the client. In some cases only a paper or peer review is required.

Consultant Communication with MCN

To expedite communication with MCN staff and streamline workflow across our nationwide organization and network of consultants, MCN has developed the MCN eChannel web portal. This interface allows for the viewing of medical records and reports, schedules, and payments information in a fully secured (HIPAA-compliant) environment. Consultants receive e-mails when there is work for them to review. Consultants can also upload voice files for transcription, electronically sign reviewed reports, download literature and electronic forms, and update credentialing materials through the portal.
